Mark Cornwell is in his fifth year at Southwest as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
A native of Churchill Bay, Canada, Cornwell spent 2014-17 as a defensive assistant football coach at Holmes Community College. While there he assisted with strength and conditioning for the school's football and men's basketball teams.
Cornwell is a 1979 graduate of the University of Manitoba and holds a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology. He is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
He was a professional hockey player for 14 years, playing in Finland for Lisalmen Peli-Karhut along with teams in the American Hockey League, International Hockey League and Western Hockey League.
Cornwell has also worked with Pro Sports Performance in Brookhaven as the director of training and also as a supervisor. He previously worked with all athletic teams at Co-Lin Community College, along with area high school teams.
He also trains college athletes for NFL Pro Days & the NFL Combine to help prepare them for the NFL Draft.
Cornwell has two children, Zach and Chelsea.
