Antonio Cowart enters his third season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Bear Men’s Basketball Program.
Cowart kicked off his collegiate playing career at Southwest in 2016-17 under then-head coach Thomas Gray. There, Cowart was named an All-MACJC First-Team Selection and made the All-Region 23 Team and Received 20+ Division 1 offers. Cowart then attended Ohio University, where he played under Saul Phillips. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology.
Cowart, a native of McComb, had a successful high career at McComb High School under Hilton Harrell with a record of 117-13. His team won District every year, while winning two state titles and finishing runner up in one. Cowart garnered a spot on the 2015-16 Jackson Clarion Ledger Dandy Dozen List.
Cowart is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Workforce Education Leadership.
