Joyce Mabry, a native of Liberty, MS, is in her sixth season as the tennis coach at Southwest. She holds an Associate's degree from Southwest, a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s degree in English from William Carey University. She also has completed graduate work at Mississippi State University and Louisiana State University.
Mabry, an avid tennis player, has served as the Southwest MS Tennis Coordinator for the United State Tennis Association and the Mississippi Tennis Association which included twenty-one counties, and she also has served as the head tennis coach at McComb High School.
Mabry is currently serving as an English and journalism instructor and Director of Student Publications. The yearbook and the newspaper have both received numerous awards on the state level under her guidance and expertise.
Mabry’s family members are Bears for life. Her husband, Bill, is a graduate of Southwest and so are her two children, Will and Melissa. Will attended Southwest on a baseball scholarship and Melissa attended Southwest on a tennis scholarship.
