Nick Couluris

Nick Couluris is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Southwest Men’s Basketball Team.

Even though this is Couluris’s first season as a collegiate coach, he is no stranger to the game, having logged several years at prep schools.

Couluris comes to Summit from Victory Rock Prep in Bradenton, FL. There, he was the Associate Head Coach on the Men’s Team from 2023-2025. He finished with a record of 40-22 and made an appearance in the SIAA State Final Four. All 10 of the upper classmen on his team signed college scholarships, most notably Kent State freshman Jaymen Townsend.

Prior to Victory Rock, Couluris spent a season as head coach at PRISE Academy in Columbia, MO and two seasons before that at Springfield Commonwealth Academy. In his first season there, he coached Femi Odukale, Enoch Cheeks, Aaron Gray and Isaiah Richards, all of whom graduated in 2025 and now play professionally.

Couluris also spent time with the National High School program at Potter’s House Christian Academy where he served as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Director and at DME Sports Academy where he got his prep school start, coaching under the late Lance Blanks.

Throughout his coaching career, Couluris has sent over 150 players to the collegiate level with more than 50 of those to a Division I program. More than a dozen of his players now play professionally.

Couluris, a New York native, completed his undergrad at St. John’s University. While at St. John’s, he began an internship with one of the most prominent grassroots basketball entities in the world, Five-Star Basketball. Upon completion of his studies, he accepted a job offer as Director for Five-Star Basketball, becoming the youngest Director in the company’s 50-year history.
