Southwest Men's Soccer clean sheet leads to first win

Southwest Men's Soccer traveled to Texas this weekend to play Jacksonville College and East Texas Baptist University.

On Friday, August 21st the Bears played Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, Texas.

A defensive battle saw Southwest fall 0-1 to Jacksonville.

David Farkas spent all 90 minutes in the goal and had 6 saves in the game.

The Bears had a quick turn around with a match the very next day against East Texas Baptist University.

Southwest played East Texas Baptist on Saturday, August 22nd in Marshall, Texas.

Theo Tayau scored the first Bear goal of the season in the 7th minute on an assist from Ilan Marin to put Southwest up 1-0.

Louis Cypers followed suit with a goal of his own in the 38th minute also assisted by Ilan Marin to give the Bears a 2-0 edge over East Texas.

David Farkas spent all 90 minutes in goal and put up a clean sheet with 8 saves and 0 goals allowed to get the first win of the season for Southwest.

The Bears move to 1-1 on the season and will travel to Mobile, Alabama on September 2nd to take on the University of Mobile.
