Tristan Allen homers against No. 4 Co-Lin for her 18th of the season

Southwest Mississippi Softball traveled to Wesson on Tuesday, April 21st to play Co-Lin in the Coca Cola Classic.

Southwest lost game one 1-3 and game two 2-11.

Allie Ladnier pitched all of game one for the Lady Bears.

Ladnier picked up 5 strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched with only 3 runs allowed.

Game one was a tight contest that only saw each team get 7 hits and ended in a 1-3 Southwest lost.

The 1 Southwest run came on a Corin Talbot single in the top of the seventh.

Jana Phillips led the team with 2 hits. Corin Talbot, Allie Ladnier, Alexis Dejean, Mary Claire Salley, and Lauryn Roebuck each had 1 hit.

Mary Claire Salley had a double.

Game two was more one sided and saw the Lady Bears lose 2-11.

The first run came on a Tristan Allen solo homerun that put her at 18 homeruns on the year.

The second and final Southwest run came when a Tristan Allen sacrifice fly scored Presleigh Atwood.

Tristan Allen and Alexis Dejean had the only 2 hits for the Lady Bears in game two.

Tristan Allen had a homerun, and Alexis Dejean had a double.

Ballard Kraft started on the mound in game two for Southwest and picked up the loss.

Mary Claire Salley came in for 2.1 innings and picked up 2 strikeouts.

Tye Boone pitched the final 1.1 innings.

The Lady Bears (27-15, 14-12*conference) will play Northeast at home on Saturday, April 25th.
