Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Southwest Mississippi Baseball traveled to Ellisville on Wednesday, March 25th to play Jones College in a doubleheader.

Southwest lost both games 6-3 and 16-8

Talen Boyd started on the mound for the Bears in game one.

Boyd pitched 1.2 innings before Dom Smith took over.

Smith pitched 2.1 innings with 2 strikeouts and picked up the loss for Southwest.

Easton Boyte pitched 3.0 innings with 1 strikeout and only 1 hit allowed.

Nik Carney also pitched 1.0 innings with 1 hit allowed.

Drew Swan led the team with 2 hits. JD Hidalgo, Justin Domiano and Tee Robinson each had 1 hit.

Justin Domiano and Hayes Loper both had 1 RBI.

The Bears would lose game one 6-3.

The three runs all came in the first inning on a Justin Domiano single, a Hayes Loper ground out, and Justin Domiano scoring on a wild pitch.

In game two, Rhyson Carroway started at pitcher for Southwest.

Carroway pitched 3.0 innings and picked up the loss for the Bears.

Wyatt Garrett pitched 0.2 innings with 2 strikeouts.

Andrew Hoff pitched 1.1 innings.

Tee Robinson pitched the final inning with 1 strikeout and only 1 hit allowed.

JD Hidalgo had 1 hit which was a solo homerun late in the game.

Tristain Haynes led the team with 2 hits. Tate Miller, Luke Simmons and Tanner Moore each had 1 hit as well.

Tristain Haynes also led the team with 3 RBIs. Landon French, JD Hidalgo, Hayes Loper, and Luke Simmons had 1 RBI each.

Landon French had a sacrifice fly.

Walker Wixon stole a base in the contest.

Southwest would go on to lose game two 16-8.

The Bears (20-14, 4-6*conference) take on Itawamba on the road in Fulton on Saturday, March 28th.
