The Lady Bears tried to respond but were unable to. Itawamba added it its lead in the fifth with six additional runs putting the visitors down 7-0.

Southwest plated two runs in the sixth on a two-run double to right from Alyssa Leggett, scoring Liberty Gillihan and Maggie Wilks.

But the Indians scored the final three runs in the bottom half of the inning on a walk-off three-run home run to take the game.

In Game 2, the Lady Bears once again had difficulty slowing down the powerful Itawamba attack. The hosts scored five runs in the first inning before pushing one across in the third and four more in the fourth.
