The Lady Bears put together one of their better offensive nights since the beginning of conference play, Thursday, picking up a 68-47 win at East Central.
"I'm very proud of our team tonight and how we continue to work hard everyday," Southwest head coach Brent Harris said. "Mookie (Lampley) had a great night and Moosie (Walls) had some big offensive rebounds."
Lampley led the charge for Southwest with 19 points while Kara Beth Addison recorded 17 and Gracie Miller 15.
Four different Lady Bears registered points for Southwest (13-9, 3-6) in the first quarter, including Addison who led the charge with six. Also getting in on the act was the returning Bethany Graves who made her comeback following a lower leg injury that kept her sidelined for the past few games.
Things picked up for Southwest in the second quarter as Miller began to get into rhythm. She splashed-in a 3-pointer and added a basket and two made free throws helping the Lady Bears take a 35-25 lead at the half.
Lampley had her best quarter on the night in the third with eight points including two 3-pointers as Southwest continued to roll.
The Lady Bears took a 54-40 lead in the fourth highlighted by key baskets from Lampley and Addison coupled with 3-pointers from Akeelah Hobson and Miller as Southwest eventually ran out the clock and preserved the win.
The Lady Bears will play host to Hinds at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
