The Bears entered Tuesday's conference match at Itawamba, hoping to right the ship after a heart-breaking loss to Hinds on Friday. But a loss of momentum early on was hard to recover from for the Bears as they fell 5-0 to the host Indians.
 
"It was all about momentum," Southwest head coach Zach Mills said. "They got a goal early in the first half and that killed us."
 
The first goal by the Indians came in the second minute and put the Bears (6-6-2, 2-4-2 MACCC) behind the 8-ball early. Despite this, they kept battling but lacked consistency trying to get into rhythm despite being without key players.
 
In the 20^th minute, the Indians added to their lead with their second goal on a penalty kick making it a 2-0 match.
 
In the second half, the deficit unfortunately grew as Itawamba added three more goals in the 51^st, 77^th and 80^th minutes, respectively.
 
The Bears return home to host Northwest, Tuesday at 7 p.m. on Sophomore Night.
