Bears, Co-Lin match ends in tie

The Bears entered Friday's road MACCC matchup against Co-Lin red hot. Winners of three-consecutive conference matchups, the Bears tried to keep their streak alive with a win against the Wolves. And even though they pulled even towards the latter stages of the contest, they could not break the tie as the match ended with a score of 1-1.

"I'm happy the guys fought back," Southwest head coach Zach Mills said. "I'm disappointed in the first half performance because we were the better team. We gave them an easy goal and it was frustrating."

The Bears (6-1-3) fell behind 1-0 in the 40th minute as the Wolves were able to put one in the net.

Early in the second half, the Bears pressed forward looking for the equalizer but could not get its offense going. Their resilience paid off in the 85th minute as Sergio Padin scored his third goal of the week, tying the game at 1. Brayden Green provided the assist on the score.

Both teams battled on trying to break the tie but the final buzzer sounded before either could do so.

Southwest returns to action on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. road match at Pearl River.
