Bears come up short at East Central

The Bears came up just a little short Friday afternoon in Decatur as they dropped a 3-2 decision to the host East Central Warriors.

Trailing 2-0, the Bears got on the scoreboard at the 45:33 mark when Nick Weir slipped the ball through the East Central defenders into Kaleb Jones' path for the easy breakaway goal to make the score 2-1.

The score remained 2-1 for over 20:00 before East Central got back on the scoreboard to increase their lead to 3-1.

With 19:33 left in the contest, Tiago Ravagni sent a nice long ball over the defenders to Carlos Aguilar who dribbled around the East Central keeper for the easy tap in. That proved to be the final goal of the day as the hosts held on the for win.

Southwest keepers Abraham Bermudez and Cooper Odom combined for nine saves.

The Bears (1-2) return to the pitch on April 12 at 4:00 when they host MACCC South Division rival Co-lin.
