Ramirez goal not enough as Bears drop 3-1 decision to Meridian

Trailing 3-0 at the half, the Bears with greater intensity in the second half, but were unable to catch up as they fell to visiting Meridian 3-1 Monday afternoon in MACCC South Division soccer play.

The Bears got on the board at 54:06 when Carlos Aguilar sent a beautiful ball into the box where Luis Ramirez headed it around the keeper and was fouled in the box for the penalty kick. Ramirez finished it nicely in the corner, but that would be all the goals the Bears (1-7, 0-5) would score on the day as Meridian (4-4-1, 3-1-1) would go on to the win.

The Bears take to the road for their next match as they take on Co-Lin in Wesson on April 29. The match is set for a 4:00 kickoff.
