The Lady Bears dropped a pair of crucial MACCC games at Pearl River Thursday afternoon, falling 5-4 in the opener and 9-1, in 5 innings, in the finale.

With the losses, the Lady Bears moved to 19-15 overall and 11-13 in the conference while Pearl River climbed to 25-13, 17-9.

A bases-loaded walk to Halee Jenkins put the Lady Bears up 1-0 in the 1st inning of game one. The lead was short-lived as Pearl River send eight batters to the plate in the bottom of the 2nd to take a 3-1 lead.

Pearl River added two runs in the top of the 5th to extend their lead to 5-1.

In the top of the 6th, a walk and two errors helped the Lady Bears pull to within 5-3.

In the top of the 7th, Jenna Brock reached base with a leadoff single, her third hit of the game, and scored later on a passed ball to trim the Lady Bears' deficit to 5-4. Unfortunately, the tying run was third base when the final out was made.

Jensen Gremillion took the loss in the circle, giving up 5 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits in 6 innings. She struck out 5 batters.

Madison Moak had a pair of singles for the Lady Bears.

Pearl River led 5-0 in the finale before the Jade Latham's two-out RBI-double in the top of the 4th made it 5-1.

That proved to be as close as the Lady Bears would get as Pearl River added their final four runs in the bottom of the 4th on their way to the win.

Latham took the loss in the circle, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits in just under an inning of work. She struck out 1 batter.

The Lady Bears continue their season-ending road trip on April 24 when they travel to Senatobia to face Northwest Mississippi in a 1:00 conference doubleheader.
