Bears drop a pair at Jones

The Bears dropped a pair of non-conference games Tuesday afternoon in Ellisville to the host Jones Bobcats, 4-0 and 10-0. Game two was ended after five innings.
 
Jones scored all the runs they would need in opener in the 3rd inning when they sent three men across the plate.
 
Chase Guitreau took the loss on the mound for the Bears, giving up all four runs on seven hits and two walks. He struck out one batter.
 
Jones (3-3) took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning of the nightcap on their way to the win.
 
Blayze Boyd took the loss for the Bears. In 3.1 innings of work, he allowed seven runs (five earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out three.
 
Jerod Williams doubled and singled for the Bears. Braxton Cooksey, Jonathan Havard and Austin Willis each had a single.
 
The Bears (1-5) are scheduled to return to the diamond on February 12 when they travel to Meridian to face the Meridian Community College Eagles. The first pitch of the twinbill is scheduled for 3:00.
