Lady Bears drop a pair to 10th ranked Co-Lin

The Lady Bears' 12-game winning streak came to an unfortunate end Tuesday afternoon in Wesson as they dropped an MACJC doubleheader, and surrendered the Coca-Cola Softball Challenge trophy, to 10th-ranked Co-Lin, 12-1 and 5-1. Game went was halted after five innings.
 
Trailing 12-0 in the opener, the Lady Bears (18-5, 5-3) the Lady Bears avoided the shutout when Carrington Jefcoat led off the fourth inning with a double and scored on a Bailey Sartin base hit.
 
Jordan McNabb took the loss in the circle, allowing 10 runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk. She struck out one batter.
 
The Lady Bears took a 1-0 lead after an inning in the finale when Josey Nations led off game two for the Lady Bears with a one-out single and scored two batters later on a McNabb two-base hit to left field.
 
Co-Lin (16-3, 7-1) took a 3-1 lead in their half of the fifth and added the final two runs of the game in the bottom of the sixth.
 
Jade Latham took the loss in the circle. In 4.1 innings, she surrendered three runs on only one hit and two walks while striking out four.
 
Nations had three hits in the game. Madison Gower tripled while Jefcoat had a double.
 
The Lady Bears return home for their next contests, hosting the Holmes Lady Bulldogs Friday afternoon in a 3:00 conference twin bill.
