Carrington Jefcoat blasted two homers to help the Lady Bears extended their winning streak to 12 games Saturday afternoon in Moorhead with 12-10 and 8-1 wins over the host Mississippi Delta Lady Trojans in MACJC conference play. Game two was halted after six innings due to darkness.

A Makennah Redd RBI single helped the Lady Bears (18-3, 5-1) take a 2-0 lead in the second inning of the opener.

Trailing 3-2 in the top of fourth, the Lady Bears got a two-RBI double from Ryleigh McManus and a Jordan McNabb RBI single to regain the lead, 5-3 (McManus also had a single in the game). The Lady Trojans then answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame to move back on top, 7-5.

Both teams scored a solo run in the fifth inning to leave the Lady Trojans with an 8-6 lead. The Lady Bears' run came on a Madison Gower homer to left field, her second hit of the game.

In the top of the sixth, Madison Newman's run-scoring single, her second hit of the game, pulled the Lady Bears to within a run, 8-7. The Lady Trojans (2-18, 0-4) then scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame to increase their lead to 10-7.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Lady Bears tied the game on Tyranesha Davis' RBI base hit and McNabb's two-RBI double, her fourth hit of the game. They then scored what proved to be the winning runs on Jefcoat's two-run blast over the left field fence, her third hit of the game.

Allie Hunt picked up the win in the circle in relief. In 2.1 innings of work, she surrendered three runs (two earned) on five hits. Jade Latham struck out two batters in one inning to record the save.

Terrah Nelson had two singles for the Lady Bears.

Down 1-0 in the top of the third in game two, Jefcoat's second homer of the day (her fourth of the week) tied the game at 1-1.

Latham's RBI double, a two-RBI single from Scottie Metrejean (the second of her three hits) and an RBI single from Nelson left the Lady Bears with a 5-1 advantage.

The Lady Bears used a pair of errors and McNabb's RBI base hit in the top of the sixth to close out the scoring.

Latham pitched a two-hit complete game, allowing only an unearned run, and struck out eight batters to get the complete-game win.

Bailey Sartin had a double and single in the game for the Lady Bears.

The Lady Bears return to action on Tuesday in Wesson when they face Co-Lin in the Coca-Cola Challenge presented by Powerade. Game one of the conference doubleheader is scheduled to get underway at 3:00.
