Madero's late goal gives Bears 3-2 win over Andrew College

With an assist from Nate Bond, Felipe Madero found the back of the net with just 0:34 left in the game to give the Bears a tough 3-2 win over the visiting Andrew College Fighting Tigers Wednesday afternoon.

A Patrick Larsen goal on a penalty kick at the 24:57 mark gave the Bears a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half.

Goals from Bryan Zuniga, at 62:36 and 70:09, left the Fighting Tigers (2-8) with a 2-1 advantage.

The Bears knotted the game at 2-2 when Joaquin Bermejillo volleyed the ball off a rebound and put it in the right corner at the 75:07 mark. The score remained tied until Bond took a touch and played the ball into Madero's head. The freshman from Argentina then did the rest to score the game winner.

"We had a lot not go in our favor today," said Bears head coach Alex Brown. "It can be such a cruel game sometimes, but we literally fought to the last minute to get the game winner. It took all 90 minutes to get the job done. I'm very proud of the fight and effort my (team) showed today."

The Bears (8-1) return to action Friday when they travel to Lafayette, La, to face LSU-Eunice in a 5:00 match.
