The MACJC South Division contest between the Bears and Meridian Eagles ended in a 3-3 tie Saturday afternoon. After battling for 90 minutes and resolving nothing, the teams were prevented by the onset of inclement weather from going into overtime.

The Bears (5-2-1, 1-2-1) took a 1-0 lead at 10:21 when
Jaime Delor took a pass from Santiago Martinez inside the box and popped the ball over the Meridian keeper to himself for a diving header.

After Meridian tied the game at 1-1 at 13:32, the Bears regained the lead at 2-1 when
Jarret Green got the ball past the Meridian keeper to score on a penalty kick at 25:58.

The lead held up until 37:55 when Meridian scored to knot the game at 2-2. The Bears then regained the lead at 39:18 when, on a good buildup play,
Ty Ware slotted the ball to Delor who then buried it to the back left post to make the score 3-2.

The scored stayed at 3-2 for the next 45:56 when Meridian (0-7-1, 0-3-1) managed to find the back of the net to even up the score at 3-3.

With neither team able to score in the final 3:56, regulation ended in a 3-3 tie. Bad weather then set in and forced the officials to end the game.

The Bears return to action on September 20 when they host the East Central Warriors in a 3:00 non-division match.
