The Bears remained perfect on the season Monday night, moving to 7-0 with an 89-80 win over the host Coahoma Tigers.

Coahoma took an early 8-2 lead before the Bears came back to go on to 18-17 on an old-fashioned three-point play by
Antonio Cowart, Jr., with 15:25 left in the first half. Baskets from T J Ben and Charles Winston then gave the Bears their biggest lead of the half, 27-24, with 12:15 on the clock.

The teams traded baskets for the next several minutes before Coahoma pulled ahead 43-37 with just over 3:00 left in the half. The Bears pulled to within a point, 44-43, with under a minute on the clock before trailing 46-43 at intermission.

Coahoma kept its lead in the six-point range through the first several minutes of the second half. The Bears then came to life, with a
John Knight III layup and Ben trey serving as bookends to a 12-0 run that put them on top 66-60 with 10:12 remaining.

After Coahoma pulled to within two points, 66-64, the Bears went on a 12-4 run to increase their lead to 78-68 with 8:31 to go. The Bears then took their biggest lead of the night, 82-70, on a pair of Knight charity shots with 2:02 left to play.

Coahoma outscored the Bears eight to three over the next 0:33 to pull to within seven, 85-78, with 1:29 on the clock, but late free throws from Knight and

Roydell Brown helped secure the win for the Bears.

Knight topped all scorers in the game with 19 points. Brown had a double-double, with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Cowart, Jr., and Ben also scored in double figures with 17 and 10 points, respectively. The Bears hit 23 of 34 free throws.

Malik Bailey and Daquon Morris both scored 16 points to lead Coahoma's offense. The hosts made 15 of 26 free throws.

The Bears play their final home game of 2017 Thursday night with a 7:15 contest against the Mississippi Delta Trojans.
