Bears fall in double overtime at Northwest

Box Score A penalty-kick goal 1:13 into the second overtime propelled the home standing Northwest Rangers to a 2-1 win over the Bears Tuesday in MACJC non-division soccer action.

The Bears fell to 4-6-1 with the loss while Northwest went to 9-4-1.

The match was scoreless until 59:50 when the Bears' Jonathan Schmaltz scored on a header off a pass from
Phillip Mallet. The Bears' lead held up until 84:55 when the Rangers tied it on a goal from Lance Crabtree.

Neither team was able to score again until Crabtree found the mark in the final overtime.

The Bears play their final non-division match Friday afternoon when they host Itawamba Community College. Play is set to get underway at 4:00.
