2nd-ranked Jones County shuts out Lady Bears

The Southwest Lady Bears dropped their final road contest of the season Friday to 2nd-ranked Jones County, 8-0, in Ellisville. Game two of the scheduled MACJC South Division doubleheader was cancelled due to rain.
 
Jones County (35-2, 25-2) used five hits to score three runs in the bottom of the second. They added two more in the third and fourth and a solo run in the sixth.
 
The Lady Bears (14-25, 4-21) were limited to a single by SHADEN MILLER. KEELY FORTENBERRY took the loss in the circle, giving up seven runs (five earned) on nine hits in 3.1 innings. She struck out one batter.
 
The Lady Bears are scheduled to close out the season Monday with a home Division twinbill against Mississippi Gulf Coast. Game one is set for a 3:00 first pitch.
