Lady Bears swept at East Central, host Mississippi Delta today

East Central's Lady Warriors swept an MACJC South Division softball doubleheader from the Lady Bears Sunday afternoon in Decatur. Both games ended in five innings with identical scores of 8-0.
 
The Lady Bears return to action today at 2:00 when they host the Lady Trojans of Mississippi Delta. The games were moved from Moorhead to Summit due to bad field conditions brought about by last week's rain.
 
East Central (15-5, 3-3 South) took advantage of five hits and a Southwest error to take a 5-0 second-inning lead in game one Sunday. They then added two runs in the third and a single run in the fourth.
 
The Lady Bears (10-10, 2-6) were limited to SARAH ROBERTS' double and single and a pair of hits by AUSTIN PRUITT. KEELY FORTENBERRY took the loss in the circle, giving up seven runs (three earned) on six hits and a pair of walks.
 
The Lady Warriors went up 3-0 in the first inning of game two before adding three more in the fourth and two in the fifth.
 
SHADEN MILLER and JESSIE PENTON both singled twice for the Lady Bears while LEYTON TERRELL also hit safely. The loss in the circle went to MACY FULTON who gave up all eight runs (five earned) on eight hits and a walk. She struck out two batters.
