Last minute goal propels host Rangers over Bears in double OT

Tough luck continued for the Southwest Bears Friday as they dropped a 2-1 decision at Northwest in double overtime. With the loss, the Bears fell to 0-3-1 on the season. They return to action Tuesday when they visit the Itawamba Indians for a 4:00 match.
 
At Northwest, an unassisted goal to the upper right net by Denver Bankston gave the Bears a 1-0 lead at 24:51 of the first half. But, the host Rangers answered back less than 4:00 minutes later when Amadou Dia scored to tie the match at 1-1.
 
The score remained deadlocked through the rest of regulation and the first 10:00 overtime. Just as it appeared the game would end in a tie, Matthew Kostmayer scored on a goal to the left lower corner of the goal to give the Rangers the win with less than 2:00 to play in the final overtime.
