Home standing Bears lose a heart-breaker, 2-1, to Northwest

Season-opening hard luck continued for the home standing Southwest Bears Saturday afternoon as they fell to the Northwest Rangers, 2-1, and fell to 0-2 on the season. Southwest returns to action on August 26 when they host Holmes in a 4:00 match.
 
The Bears took an early 1-0 lead at 13:18 of the first half when Eric Woodard took a pass from Denver Bankston and found the back of the goal. The lead held up until 25:43 of the half when Armando Barron, assisted by Jacob King, tied the game at 1-1. The teams remained tied at the break.
 
The winning goal for Northwest came at 70:52 of the second half when Amadou Dia scored with Armando Barron providing the assist.
