Bears surrender 1-0 home decision to East Central

The MACJC soccer season did not get off to the best of starts for the Southwest Bears against visiting East Central Friday afternoon.
 
Miscommunication among the Bears' defense allowed Jacob Johnson to score a goal at 28:00 of the first half and that held up as the Warriors left Summit with a 1-0 victory.
 
A bright spot on the day for the Bears was the performance of goalkeeper Bryant Boyington. Boyington, a freshman from Robertsdale, AL, saved 10 of 11 East Central shots on goal.
 
The Bears return to action Saturday afternoon when they host the Northwest Rangers in a 4:00 match.
