Former Southwest player German Hays receives awards at Mississippi Valley

Former Southwest baseball player German Hays picked up three awards at the recent Mississippi Valley State University All-Sports Banquet. Hays played at Southwest in 2011-12.

Hays, a graduate of Oak Forest Academy (Amite, LA) and now a member of the Delta Devils squad, was named team MVP, Defensive Player of the Year. He was also one of three to receive the Male Scholar Athlete Award for having a 4.0 grade point average.
