Bears end season with 3-2 overtime win over Co-Lin

In his final appearance as a member of the Southwest Bears soccer team, sophomore Conner Masters had two goals to help lead his team to a 3-2, season-ending home victory over rival Co-Lin Wednesday afternoon. The match was decided in overtime.
 
With an assist from Joel Villa, Masters scored at 11:00 to put the Bears up 1-0 at the half. The visitors from Wesson knotted the match at 1-1 on a goal by Eric Lima at 54:00.
 
Masters picked up his second goal of the game, and Villa his second assist, at 64:00 to put Southwest back on top, 2-1. The lead was short-lived, however, as Kenny Llamas scored on a penalty kick at 77:00 to tie the game at 2-2.No goals in the final 23:00 forced the match into overtime.
 
In the extra frame, the Bears picked up the win when a missed shot by Masters rebounded off the Co-Lin keeper. Denver Bankston took advantage of the rebound to hit a chip shot into the goal to give Southwest the win.
 
Sophomore keeper Ryan Willcutt started the first half of the match and saved all seven chances shots against him. Fellow sophomore Will Evans had five saves in seven chances, including one in overtime.
