Bears fall 1-0

The Southwest soccer teams dropped a pair of games to visiting Holmes Community College Tuesday as the Bears were defeated 1-0 and the Lady Bears went down 3-1.

Both teams will be in action on Sunday when they travel to Senatobia to face Northwest Mississippi for games postponed from August 28 due to Hurricane Isaac. Game times are 2:00 for the ladies and 4:00 for the men.

The teams fought to a 0-0 first half tie and remained scoreless until Kyle Davidson’s goal at 58:00 put the Bulldogs (3-0) on top. The Bears (0-2) had several shot opportunities, but were unable to capitalize.

Southwest keeper Will Evans saved three of three shots on goal while fellow keeper Ryan Willcutt had four saves in five chances.
