Michael D. Gunnell is in his 19^th year at Southwest. A native of Ruth, Miss., he is a 1981 graduate of Enterprise Attendance Center.

He holds an A. A. degree from Southwest and received a B.S. degree in Journalism, with a minor in Coaching and Sports Administration, from the University of Southern Mississippi.

He served as Sports Information Director from 2007-2021.
