Veteran coach Darius Buck is in his first season as a member of the Bear Football coaching staff. He'll be the Defensive Coordinator for Southwest.
Buck brings 13 years of experience to Summit and is no stranger to the MACCC.
He began his career at Jones where he spent two years with the Bobcats and was part of the 2013 MACJC Staff of the Year. He then moved on to South Alabama as a graduate assistant for another two years coaching defensive backs and special teams before a pair of three-year stints, the first at Albany State coaching cornerbacks and the punt return team and the second at Clark-Atlanta as the Defensive Coordinator for the Panthers.
He spent the past three seasons at Co-Lin where he was in charge of the defensive backs. While in Wesson he was part of the 2023 MACCC Staff of the Year. That same year, the Wolves finished as conference runners up.
The Vicksburg-native played football at Murray State where he graduated in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Health and Exercise Science. In 2017 earned his master's degree in Health Education from South Alabama.
