Alissa Adams

Former Lady Bear Alissa Adams is in her third year as Assistant Coach with the Women’s Basketball Program.

Adams returns to Summit following a two-year run as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at West Lincoln High School in Brookhaven. There she was named the Region 7-2A Coach of the Year in 2023. Her teams also made an Elite Eight appearance in 2023 and a Final Four appearance in 2022.

Prior to that, Adams was Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Amite School Center in Liberty for two years. In 2019, she was named a Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) All-Star Coach.

Adams is an Honors Graduate from Mississippi State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.

While at Southwest, Adams earned several accolades including an SMCC Academic Hall of Fame honor and being named an Honors Graduate, both in 2017. As a player, she finished the 2015-16 season 5th in the NJCAA in assists per game and 12th in free throw percentage. The next year she was named to the NJCAA All-Region 23 Team, the MACJC All-State Team and was an MACJC State Runner Up.

The Kiln-native is a graduate of Hancock High School. She also obtained a Master’s Degree in Teaching from William Carey University.

Adams and her husband Tucker are the parents daughters Amarie and Hollyn.
