Jay O’Hern is in his fifth year as head coach of the Bears Golf Team.
In his first season with the Bears, two team members received conference academic honors.
In addition, freshman Scott Baker qualified for the NJCAA National Championship Tournament.
A native of McComb, O’Hern is a graduate of Parklane Academy. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi in 1998-2001 before becoming a golf pro.
During his time as a golf pro, he has exercised his passion for teaching golf by working with numerous high school teams and by giving lessons.
He and his wife, Crystal, are the parents of two daughters, Emily and Natalie.
