Southwest Mississippi's Women's Basketball traveled to Booneville on February 12th to play the Northeast Mississippi Tigers in a 56-64 road loss for the Lady Bears.

The Lady Bears came out hot starting the game off with back to back three pointers from Mady Smith and Gracie Miller.

After a hot start, the scoring slowed down for Southwest but a last second bucket from Mady Smith brought the score to 10-17 at the end of the first with the Tigers in the lead.

Good defense and a 7-point run from Gracie Miller helped the Lady Bears bring it back as they went into halftime only trailing by 2 points with a 27-29 score line at the half.

Gracie Miller opened up the third quarter with a three pointer to get the ball rolling for Southwest.

The Lady Bears and the Tigers exchanged the lead a few times before the third quarter finally finished tied at 39-39.

With 8:21 left in the game, another set of back to back threes from Mady Smith and Gracie Miller gave Southwest the lead then extended it.

Moments later the Tigers took back the lead and held onto it until the end with the Lady Bears eventually losing 56-64.

Gracie Miller led the team in scoring with 22 points with 4 three pointers made. Mady Smith had 12 points of her own with 2 three pointers.
